After two games on the road, Greenville is heading back home. They will take on the Calhoun Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Greenville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Opp with a 66-61 victory. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but Greenville was the better team in the second half.
Meanwhile, Calhoun had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 74-66 victory over Lanier on Saturday.
Calhoun relied on the efforts of Brenterris Managan, who scored 17 points, and Tyler Robertson, who scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Robertson has scored at least 25% of Calhoun's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Robertson, who scored 10 points along with 7 assists.
The losses dropped Greenville to 2-8 and Opp to 1-5.
Greenville came up short against Calhoun when the teams last played back in February, falling 76-69. Thankfully for Greenville, Traevun Scott (who scored 18 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
