The Heath Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Liberty Union Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Heath had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Northridge on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Vikings 18-10. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Shelby Moore made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

With that strong performance, Spicer is now averaging an impressive 3.2 RBI per game. Sydney Cottrell was another key player, firing off two home runs, three runs, and one stolen base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Heath always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .538 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Liberty Union came out on top against Circleville on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Lions walked away with a 10-7 win over the Tigers. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.
Liberty Union pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Heath, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-4.
Heath took their victory against Liberty Union in their previous meeting back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
