The Fairbury Jeffs's game on Saturday was all tied up 8-8 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilber-Clatonia. Fairbury has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fairbury's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evelyn Timmons, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Sam Starr, who scored nine points.
Fairbury's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Wilber-Clatonia, their win bumped their record up to 4-13.
Fairbury will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seward at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilber-Clatonia, they will head out on the road to square off against Sandy Creek on Monday. Sandy Creek is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
