Eastside had won three straight at home, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 15-2 to make it four. They put the hurt on the Twin Springs Titans with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Spartans have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Braelyn Hall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rylie Bower was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoe Sartin, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Eastside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
As for Twin Springs, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 13-4 record. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this matchup were averaging 2.06 runs allowed.
On Twin Springs' side, Aubrey Meade made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Coming up, Eastside is taking a road trip to challenge Thomas Walker at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Pioneers at the right time seeing as the Pioneers are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Twin Springs, they will welcome J.I. Burton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 2.1, the Black Raiders 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
