Softball Recap: Lansingburgh Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Schalmont, Lansingburgh was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Schenectady Patriots get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Guiliana Patregnani made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Patregnani was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lansingburgh got a massive performance out of Kyleigh Wilmott, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Wilmott a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Patregnani, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Lansingburgh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .794. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lansingburgh has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Schenectady, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lansingburgh will head out to challenge Mohonasen at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Schenectady, they will venture away from home to square off against Bethlehem Central at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
