The Ridge Point Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Dobie Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridge Point knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Dobie likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Ridge Point got the win against Fort Bend Austin by a conclusive 13-1. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by eight runs or more this season.

Kennedy Gray tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Braelyn Daniels, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Kate Pierson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Ridge Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .462 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Manvel hit Dobie with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Longhorns fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 7-6. The Longhorns' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Vanessa De La Fuente was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alexis Martinez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Natalie De Hoyos, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Ridge Point is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Dobie, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.
Ridge Point suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Dobie in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
