The Monacan Chiefs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They suffered a rough 95-75 loss at the hands of Manchester. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monacan in their matchups with Manchester: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Monacan still got an impressive performance from Samuel Sims, who went 6 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 2 assists. That was a full 46.7% of Monacan's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tai Bowler was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Monacan dropped their record down to 9-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Manchester, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monacan will take on Midlothian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Monacan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. As for Manchester, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Richmond City School of the Arts at 7:15 p.m. Manchester has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
