VI Section II (8 Man) recap September 4, 2013
Tohono O'Odham lost to Ajo 62-16 last week, the largest margin of any game.
St. David led VI Section II (8 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Duncan. Chris Campbell ran for 111 yards during the win.
Travis Davis and Campbell gave the Tigers a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Jeremy Stafford also contributed to the rushing game with 104 yards on the ground.
Davis and Campbell gave St. David a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.
Campbell was the most successful running back in the league this week.
Ralph Padill was a passing and rushing force as Patagonia fell to Gila Bend. He completed 6 passes for 102 yards and also ran for 49 yards. Padill's key target this week was Jorge Martinez, who caught 2 passes for 58 yards.
Jarrett Carpenter was a key player and the best on defense this week as Brett Davis' team defeated the Wildkats. The 6-foot-2 junior grabbed 2.0 sacks.
Martinez was the best wideout in the league this week as the Lobos lost to the Gila Monsters. Jose Vasquez helped Patagonia's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 23 yards.
Davis put up the best numbers in passing as the Tigers bested Duncan. He finished with 4 completions for 72 yards. Davis' favorite target this week was Val Allred, who caught 2 passes for 27 yards.
St. David led VI Section II (8 Man) in points allowed with 26.
