The Bolton Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Overton Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Tuesday, Bolton was able to grind out a solid win over Kingsbury, taking the game 11-7.
Jaylon Johnson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Johnson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Myles Runnels and Anthony Mull did most of the damage at the plate: Runnels scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4, while Mull scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Mull is becoming a predictor of Bolton's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 0-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Anthony Suggs, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Bolton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Overton made easy work of Memphis East on Tuesday and carried off an 11-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Nehemiah Diggs was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Julian Tallent was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Bolton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Overton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3-1.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bolton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .548. However, it's not like Overton struggles in that department as they've averaged .564. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bolton couldn't quite finish off Overton in their previous matchup back in March and fell 8-6. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
