The Page Sand Devils will take on the El Capitan Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Page is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Page took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Holbrook, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sand Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Roadrunners on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Micheal Gonzales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Cummings was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Sam, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, El Capitan entered their matchup against Tuba City back in March without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles came up short against the Warriors, falling 18-4.
El Capitan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Barlow, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Page is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for El Capitan, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Page hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like El Capitan struggles in that department as they've averaged .595. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Page's way against El Capitan in their previous matchup back in March, as Page made off with an 18-0 victory. Will the Sand Devils repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
