Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Cardinal Mooney Cougars walked away with it. They walked away with  a   66-58  win over the Panthers  on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
 Cardinal Mooney's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Connor Heald led the charge by  scoring 21 points along with five  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sean Scurry, who  scored 11 points along with two  steals.
 Cardinal Mooney has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matchups,  which provided a massive bump to their 18-8 record  this season. As for Bradenton Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.
 Cardinal Mooney will take on First Baptist Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Hopefully Cardinal Mooney focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Bradenton Christian, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Gateway Charter at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Gateway Charter has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,441 points over their last 20 games.
