Zeplin Kidd was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 19 en route to 27 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in November of 2024. Alex Lowry was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with six boards and four steals.
Meanwhile, St. Francis entered their tilt with Fellowship Christian on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They took their match with ease, bagging an 81-48 win over the Paladins. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Paladins are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Francis had a senior duo take command as Greg Howard went 8 for 13 en route to 24 points and Reynolds Escher went 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The contest was Howard's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Deniz Ozbek, who posted ten points.
King's Ridge Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.8 points per game. As for St. Francis, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: King's Ridge Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 21.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like St. Francis struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
King's Ridge Christian came up short against St. Francis when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 62-54. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Howard, who went 10 for 22 en route to 25 points and six rebounds. Now that King's Ridge Christian knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
