After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lamar, Butler was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Midway Vikings a 15-0 shutout. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten runs or more this season.

Kylee Dubray made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Butler let Taylor Hudson and Brooke Miller run wild. Hudson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Miller earned one RBI, three runs, and four stolen bases. Those four stolen bases gave Miller a new career-high. Kadyn Cook was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Butler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midway only posted an OBP of .000.

Butler has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Midway, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Butler will face off against Hume at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Midway, they will welcome Rich Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.07 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
