Mooresville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-62 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rocky River Ravens. On the bright side, the 62- point effort marked the Blue Devils' highest-scoring contest to date.

When it comes to explaining why Mooresville lost, don't look at Gia Lowe. Despite the final result, she posted 35 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Shaw, who scored 16 points.

Leading Rocky River to victory were Lundyn Spears and Jade Bell. Spears shot 6-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double with 26 points and 11 boards, while Bell dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Spears has scored at least a third of the Ravens' points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Spears, who had seven points and three steals.

Mooresville's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Rocky River, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Coming up, Mooresville will be home for the holidays to greet Northwest Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Rocky River, they are taking a road trip to face off against Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
