After a string of three wins, the North Cobb Christian Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 75-54 walloping at the hands of Christian Heritage. While losing is never fun, North Cobb Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Christian Heritage is ranked 26th).
North Cobb Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Wyatt Thomason, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Grant Robich, who scored nine points along with six assists and five rebounds.
North Cobb Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Christian Heritage, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Cobb Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Therrell at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Christian Heritage and Chattooga will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
