Even though the Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders scored an imposing 61 points on Thursday, The Habersham School Patriots still came out on top. The Habersham School took their match against Faith Baptist Christian Academy 72-61. The win made it back-to-back wins for The Habersham School.
The Habersham School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ike Barry led the charge by scoring 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barry has scored all season. Sam Peterson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Faith Baptist Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aidan Massey, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, and RJ Legette who scored 16 points along with seven assists and four steals. Legette hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Austin Massey, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
The Habersham School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 11-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Habersham School will take on Heritage Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Christian Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Faith Baptist Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Faith Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Faith Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 two weeks ago.
