Basketball Recap: Walhalla Takes a Loss

The Walhalla Razorbacks came up short against the Landrum Cardinals on Wednesday and fell 74-65.

Despite the loss, Walhalla still got an impressive performance from Jack Williams, who posted 19 points and six rebounds. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Bentley Kaliski, who had 18 points and seven boards.

Landrum was led to victory by Ivan Williams and Noah Dodd. Williams almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine assists, while Dodd shot 50% from the field en route to 21 points. That's the most points Dodd has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Atkins, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Walhalla's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Landrum, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Walhalla wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-51 defeat against Prince Avenue Christian on the 4th. As for Landrum, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Asheville at 8:00 p.m.
