Nocona (Texas) snapped
Edgewood (Texas)'s 6-game winning streak, with a 40-23 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Jacob Sharff touchdown run, the Bulldogs went into halftime with a 16-14 lead. The Nocona scored the winning points with a touchdown run by
Tate Fenoglio that came in the third quarter.
With the win Nocona extended its winning streak to 11 games. NHS defeated the Bearcats 20-0 last week.
Fenoglio played well for the Nocona in the victory. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 24 touchdowns on the season.
Sharff made a difference for Edgewood. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 23 on the year.
EHS came in surrendering 13.9 points per game this season. The Bulldogs struggled against Nocona's offense, which entered the game scoring 34.7 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Edgewood, which notched a 75-21 victory over Tom Bean in its previous outing.
