Prescott had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the Greenway Demons to the tune of 49-3 on Friday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Badgers just coasted through the last quarter.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prescott to victory, but perhaps none more so than Giovanni Pugliese, who threw for 152 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Kenny Miller-Terry also helped with two scores in total.
Prescott was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 204 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenway only rushed for 101 rushing yards.
Prescott didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caleb Fox and Miller-Terry. Miller-Terry got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Looking ahead, Prescott will square off against Thunderbird at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenway, they will challenge Gila Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
