The Udall Eagles will be playing at home against the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Udall comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Udall took a serious blow against Independent, falling 62-30.
Pretty Prairie never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Solomon last Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 76-30 win over the Gorillas. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-22.
Gage Bowers had a dynamite game for Pretty Prairie, rushing for 405 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 15.0 yards per carry. Bowers' longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Weston Smyth was another key contributor, gaining 133 total yards and three touchdowns.
Udall's loss was their 14th straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Central and 9-1 South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven] (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63% over those games). As for Pretty Prairie, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-7.
Udall took a serious blow against Pretty Prairie in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 52-20. Thankfully for Udall, Bryan Steadman (who rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 69 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
