Channelview has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the South Houston Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Channelview has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, Channelview came up short against Sam Rayburn and fell 48-41.
Meanwhile, South Houston lost to Pasadena Memorial on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, South Houston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1248th, while Pasadena Memorial is ranked 478th).
Channelview bumped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for South Houston, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Channelview against South Houston in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 as the squad secured a 56-18 win. Will Channelview repeat their success, or does South Houston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
