On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Wildwood, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-28 loss to Braden River. Wildwood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Wildwood still got an impressive performance from Alan Means, who threw for 371 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Another player making a difference was Lorenza Simmons, who picked up 135 receiving yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Yahshua Edwards, who rushed for 211 yards and five touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Braden River's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Storm Hense and his two sacks.
Wildwood has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Braden River, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.
Wildwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Braden River will head out on the road to face off against Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robinson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Braden River likes a good challenge.
