The Westwood Panthers lost against the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Westwood was beaten by Lincoln Park Academy 62-20. Westwood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westwood's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jihla Greer, who scored 6 points. Greer scored a full 30% of Westwood's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmyne Jones, who scored 5 points.
Leading Lincoln Park Academy to victory were Dori Gayman and Olivia Titherington. Gayman scored 15 points, while Titherington dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 assists. Kanosha Hartwell was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 7 rebounds.
Westwood now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Lincoln Park Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westwood will challenge Somerset College Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln Park Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Astronaut at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
