The biggest upset of the week belonged to Dunnellon, who took down 201st ranked Crystal River, 40-29.
The Tigers moved up to 222 from 257 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A District 5. Dunnellon climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Pirates 40-29.
North Marion's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brody Hall threw for 218 and four touchdowns and Reggie Wilkerson had 122 yards receiving. On the ground James Allen chipped in 132 yards. Marvin Wilkerson helped North Marion's passing attack out by catching six balls for 77 yards.
Crystal River's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pirates feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Joe Lafleur has thrown for 780 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Sam Franklin has 21 catches for 369 yards. Dallas Baldner leads the league in rushing with 833 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Frank Beasley's team takes on the Colts. At the moment, the Tigers are in third, while North Marion is in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Dunnellon takes on Craig Damon's team. The Tigers have allowed 190 points this season, while the Colts have given up 151.
Eastside and North Marion played the most hotly contested game in 5A District 5 this week, with Eastside eventually emerging with a 42-41 victory.
