Even though the Brearley Bears have not done well against the Dayton Bulldogs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Brearley walked away with a 55-46 win over Dayton. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Brearley was the better team in the second half.
Dayton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle Rosenstock, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Sherman, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
The victory (which was Brearley's fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Dayton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brearley's road trip will continue as they head out to face New Providence at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Dayton, they will square off against Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
