Meanwhile, Fairview got themselves on the board against Monarch on Friday, but Monarch never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Coyotes 49-0 on the road. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Coyotes are ranked 74th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
A big part of Fairview's victory came down to the chemistry between Ki Ellison and his top target Jordan Rechel. Ellison threw for 329 yards and four touchdowns while completing 95% of his passes while Rechel gained 145 total yards and two touchdowns. Rechel also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending two passes. Sabi Ruttgers was in the mix as well, providing Fairview with two touchdowns.
Smoky Hill's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fairview, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
