It was a good run, but the Marion Swamp Foxes unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to Dillon. Marion was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dillon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Tuesday.
Marion's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabriel Cusack, who scored 11 points along with five steals. The matchup was Cusack's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameir Legette, who scored ten points.
Dillon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rahmond Hamilton , who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Hamilton is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shawn Samuel, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Marion's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Dillon, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Marion won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cane Bay at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Cane Bay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Monday. As for Dillon, they will head out on the road to face off against Conway at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
