With a playoff game on the line, the Lafayette Lions rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Griffins out 2-1. That's two games straight that Lafayette has won by exactly one goal.
Brea Bailey was the driving force of Lafayette's attack as she scored both of Lafayette's goals. With that big game, she's now up to 32 goals this season.
The victory was the third in a row for Lafayette, bringing their record for this year to 15-7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three contests. As for Dutchtown, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7-2.
Lafayette will square off against St. Scholastica at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Scholastica is coming into the match with seven straight victories on the road, so Lafayette is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Dutchtown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
