Softball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Baldwin

Baldwin hadn't done well against Canon-McMillan recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Fighting Highlanders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Big Macs a 4-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fighting Highlanders also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2025.

The team relied heavily on Reese Temme, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Ava Bonacci was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Baldwin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canon-McMillan only posted a batting average of .130.

The win made it two in a row for Baldwin and bumps their season record up to 15-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Canon-McMillan, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Baldwin will take on Norwin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canon-McMillan, they will square off against Bethel Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
