It was a good run, but the St. John Woodchucks unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 76-62 bruising from Langdon. St. John has struggled against Langdon recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
St. John's loss came despite strong showings from Aubree Jeanotte and Kaycee Desjarlais. Jeanotte scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Desjarlais scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Jeanotte is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Eliza Slater, who scored seven points along with four steals.
St. John's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3. As for Langdon, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Cavalier the next time they take the court. St. John will host Cavalier at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Langdon will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
