The Excel Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Saraland Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Excel comes in on ten and Saraland on four.
Excel came out on top against Hillcrest on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Panthers put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Holden Stacey made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trent Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mattox Dailey, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Excel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Saraland got the win against Blount on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-1. That looming 13-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.
Excel's record is now 15-2. As for Saraland, their record now sits at 10-3.
Excel came up short against Saraland when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 5-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
