The Banneker Trojans and the Washington Bulldogs will compete for holiday cheer  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Banneker and three for Washington.

Despite the  defeat, Banneker saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Armoni Rogers  dropped  a double-double on 18  points and 15  boards. Rogers is  crushing it when it comes to  rebounds: she's   pulled down at least eight every time she's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Zariyah Jones, who  went 5 of 11  on her way to 10 points and three  steals.
 Even though they lost, Banneker  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 22  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least 12  offensive boards in four consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile, Washington came up short against  Creekside Christian Academy on Monday, falling  52-30. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings  (they are ranked 378th, while the Cougars are ranked 79th).
 Banneker's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
 Things could have been worse for Banneker, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took  a  64-46 loss to Washington in their previous matchup  back in January of 2015.
