North Central came out on top against Gorham Fayette on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. North Central put the hurt on Gorham Fayette with a sharp 11-1 victory. North Central hasn't had any issues with Gorham Fayette recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Amara Wright spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Bre Gendron was a standout: she got on base in two of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmi Hollstein, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Hilltop posted their closest victory since March 27th on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hicksville 6-4.
Kelsy Connolly was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sophia Crossgrove was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI.
Hilltop's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for North Central, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-8.
