Aubrey is 6-1 against Krum since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Aubrey Chaparrals will head out on the road to face off against the Krum Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Aubrey will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Aubrey's game was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Van Alstyne by a score of 17-7.
Emerson Cagle was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Cagle's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards.
Even though Krum has not done well against Sanger recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Krum put the hurt on Sanger with a sharp 37-13 victory. The score was close at the half, but Krum pulled away in the second half with 21 points.
Krum can attribute much of their success to Ty Taber, who threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Krum also got a significant boost from Will Holland, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 95 yards.
Their wins bumped Aubrey to 3-4 and Krum to 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Aubrey against Krum when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 47-19 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aubrey since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
