The Millard South Patriots were the 61-52 winner over the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Millard South fell 52-44 to Papillion-LaVista on Saturday. Millard South has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Jensen, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Sam Cooper was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Papillion-LaVista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Demarcus Mccarty out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sam Boudreau, who scored 12 points.
Millard South's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Papillion-LaVista, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millard South and Papillion-LaVista South will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Papillion-LaVista South is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Papillion-LaVista will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Omaha South at 7:15 p.m. on January 5th. Omaha South is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
