Baseball Recap: Clawson Extends Winning Streak to Three

Clawson waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Mott Marauders. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered an 11-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Shane Dunlap was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Steven Chapman, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Clawson now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Mott, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clawson will square off against Fitzgerald at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
