Corning had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. On Friday, they narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Red Oak 24-21. The score was all tied up at the break, but Corning was the better team in the second half. This was the first game for both teams, giving Corning a 1-0 record and starting Red Oak off at 0-1.
Next week, Corning take on Central Decatur at 7:00 PM. As for Red Oak, they will face of against Clarinda.
