Two dominant backs in Donovan 'DJ' Colvin and Dillon Terry are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings will face off against the Brookstone Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Anne-Pacelli will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
St. Anne-Pacelli is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 34-7 win over Loganville Christian Academy. The Vikings pushed the score to 34-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.
St. Anne-Pacelli's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jason Davis led the charge by picking up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Davis was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 58 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dustin Sherman, who threw for 172 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes.
St. Anne-Pacelli was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. They are 4-2 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Another reason for the win was St. Anne-Pacelli's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Damien Hill was especially locked on to Loganville Christian Academy's QB and sacked him twice. Hill also made five total tackles, which is notable because St. Anne-Pacelli is 3-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 3-4 otherwise. The Vikings got some further help from Zackery Ellis: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brookstone, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in October. They came out on top against Strong Rock Christian by a score of 23-13 last Friday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
A big part of Brookstone's win came down to the chemistry between Broughton Branch and his top target Sammie Laboy. Branch threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes while Laboy picked up 70 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Brookstone didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Frankie Bickerstaff and A.J. Hayes. Hayes is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least eight every time he's taken the field this season.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Brookstone, racking up 11 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Jimmy Hunter: he added nine points with three field goals and another two kicking extra points.
Brookstone's record is now 8-2. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. St. Anne-Pacelli has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 192.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Brookstone struggles in that department as they've been averaging 156.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
St. Anne-Pacelli came up short against Brookstone when the teams last played back in October, falling 19-14. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
