Softball Recap: North Hollywood Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Hollywood walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alliance Bloomfield Bulls a 16-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Huskies have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ellison Hinnen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Tyler Coleman-Daniels was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Judith Arredondo Pena was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

North Hollywood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

North Hollywood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Alliance Bloomfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

North Hollywood has already played their next game, a 5-0 win against South East on the 23rd. Alliance Bloomfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
