The New Underwood Tigers kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell to Edgemont 30-24. New Underwood lost against Edgemont in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 39-36 score last time.
Edgemont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tavian Urban led the charge by scoring 8 points along with 12 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Hollenbeck , who scored 6 points.
New Underwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Edgemont, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Underwood will take on Hill City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edgemont won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wall at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th.
