Softball Recap: Pelion Has No Trouble Against Batesburg-Leesville

Pelion never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Batesburg-Leesville as Pelion made off with a 16-0 victory. Considering Pelion has won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Jackson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Alexia Hansen, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Pelion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Pelion and bumps their season record up to 8-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-6-1 Batesburg-Leesville and 5-10-1 American Leadership Academy. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Pelion is set to challenge their familiar foe American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Batesburg-Leesville will take on rival Strom Thurmond at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
