Cahokia recap October 22, 2013
Columbia extended the longest winning streak in Cahokia this week by beating Red Bud, 50-24. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
The Musketeers lost to Columbia 50-24 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Central's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Josh Dunning threw for 146 and 1 touchdown and Dalton Newkirk had 51 yards receiving. On the ground Cody Frohn contributed 167 yards. Rob Harmon helped Central's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 45 yards.
Dunning put up the best numbers through the air as the Cougars bested Wesclin. Dunning's favorite target this week was Newkirk, who caught 4 passes for 51 yards.
Central's Dunning and Jacob Timmerman have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Dunning has thrown for 1,299 yards this season, while Timmerman has 33 catches for 460 yards. Dupo's Tyler Barnes leads the league in rushing yards with 834.
Scott Horner's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 50 points on Red Bud.
