The Cheney Blackhawks will challenge the Shadle Park Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheney is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Cheney will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Gonzaga Prep on Tuesday. The Blackhawks blew past the Bullpups 19-4. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Bullpups recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Kieli Current and Maddy Hurley made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Current pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Hurley struck out six batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. At bat, Current went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Hurley went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That run was Current's first of the season.

In other batting news, Allie Halverson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Mia Ashcroft was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Cheney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gonzaga Prep only posted an OBP of .400.
Shadle Park had taken Mead down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Highlanders fell 9-6 to the Panthers. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Madi Keon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabelle Moreno, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Cheney's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Shadle Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
