The Wray Eagles lost against the Goodland Cowboys back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Wray was outmatched by Goodland on the road and fell 75-44. While losing is never fun, Wray can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 191st in Colorado, while Goodland is ranked first in Kansas).
Wray's loss came despite strong showings from AB Ruiz and Rafael Trejo. Ruiz scored 16 points along with six rebounds, while Trejo scored 13 points.
Wray's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Goodland, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.
Wray will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Burlington at 8:00 p.m. on December 8th. Burlington has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 186 points over their last three matches. As for Goodland, they will be playing at home against Norton on Friday. Hopefully Norton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.
