The Social Circle Redskins won the last time they faced the Jasper County Hurricanes, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Social Circle strolled past Jasper County with points to spare, taking the game 45-26. The win made it back-to-back wins for Social Circle.
Social Circle found their leader in underclassman Sophia Fontenot, who shot 6-for-12 from deep and dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Fontenot pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brielle Price, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Social Circle's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Jasper County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Social Circle will square off against Prince Avenue Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Prince Avenue Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Jasper County on the road again on Friday and play against Oglethorpe County at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Oglethorpe County is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
