Adding to the longest winning streak in MAIS A District 3 this week, Sylva Bay Academy beat Heidelberg Academy 43-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Saints.
Newton County Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Generals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Joseph Little has thrown for 340 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Jordan Jones has 7 catches for 129 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Sylva Bay Academy takes on second place Benton Academy.
Dustin Alsup of the Newton County Academy is just 48 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Alsup has rushed for 952 yards on 157 carries so far this year.
