While it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, Genoa Christian Academy was not quite Patriot Prep Academy's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell 54-43 to the Eagles. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Genoa Christian Academy in their matchups with Patriot Prep Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Genoa Christian Academy had strong showings from Jackson Kirura, who scored 12 points, and Zane Groves, who scored ten points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Groves has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sam Gilham, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, sadly, Temple Christian is still looking for their first win of the season after eight matches. They were outmatched by HEARTS for Jesus Christ on the road and fell 63-25. Having soared to a lofty 65 points in the game before, Temple Christian couldn't push the score so high this time.
Genoa Christian Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Temple Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
