Softball Recap: North Duplin Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for North Duplin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hobbton Wildcats with a sharp 16-1 win on Wednesday. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 15 runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Gonzales, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Ady Spence, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

North Duplin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hobbton only posted an OBP of .250.

North Duplin's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Hobbton, they moved to 6-13 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

North Duplin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-2 defeat against Topsail on the 22nd. Hopefully Hobbton paid attention to the Rebels' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
