Basketball Recap: Decatur Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Decatur won the last time they faced Lake Worth, and Javen Colbert did his part to make sure it happened again. The Decatur Eagles claimed a resounding 87-54 win over the Lake Worth Bullfrogs thanks in part to Colbert, who went 15 for 33 en route to 45 points in addition to six assists and four steals. The matchup was his ninth in a row with at least ten points.

Adan Gonzalez was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last five games he's played.

Despite the loss, Lake Worth still got an impressive performance from De?Jay Black, who went 5 for 9 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. Those 16 points gave Black a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ayden Brooks, who posted eight points and five boards.

Decatur has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Lake Worth, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.
