A Region 4 recap September 24, 2013
Brookstone moved up to 244 from 295 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A Region 4. The Cougars were able to move up by besting Wesleyan 24-17.
Marion County took down Miller County 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Justin Eckert threw for 35 yards and ran for 69 yards during the win.
Eckert put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles defeated the Pirates.
Tra Minter was a passing and rushing force as Schley County lost to Terrell County. Minter's key target this week was Logan Schofield, who caught 2 passes for 34 yards.
Schofield was the best wideout in the league this week as the Wildcats fell to the Greenwave.
Minter was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 200 yards on 20 carries as Schley County fell to Terrell County. Kyle Moore also contributed to the rushing game with 70 yards on the ground.
Lorenzo Smothers made the biggest impact on defense this week as Marion County beat Miller County. He pulled down 2 interceptions.
Brookstone's Miller Page and Kordell Braxton have formed a dream team this season, leading A Region 4 in both passing and receiving yards. Page has thrown for 312 yards this season, while Braxton has 5 catches for 112 yards. Josh Kemp's team's Minter leads the league in rushing yards with 396.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Brad Dehem's team takes on Dooly County. At the moment, the Cougars are in fourth, while the Bobcats are in fifth.
Pacelli led the league in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on Baconton Charter.
